Flex Tab (Record and Run Settings Dialog Box)

This tab enables you to define preferences for recording and running tests on Flex applications.

To access

Select Record > Record and Run Settings and then select the Flex tab.

Important information

If you load only the UFT Flex Add-in, then only the Flex and Windows Applications tabs are displayed in the Record and Run Settings dialog box. If other add-ins are loaded, the corresponding tabs (if any) are also displayed.

Working with the Flex Add-in

User interface elements are described below:

UI Elements Description
Record and run test on any open Flex application

Instructs UFT to record all operations performed on any Flex application that is open while recording your test, and to run steps on any such application during a run session.

To enable UFT to record on Flex applications, do one of the following:

  • Run the Flex application using the Adobe Flash Player Debugger.
  • Run the application using the UFT Flex Runtime Loader
  • Manually prepare the Flex application for UFT testing.

Open the following applications when a record or run session begins

Instructs UFT to open specific Flex applications at the beginning of a record or run session.

This setting controls only which application, if any, is opened at the beginning of a record or run session. It does not affect the applications that UFT recognizes. Even if this radio button is selected and no application is specified, UFT can still record, recognize, and run on any open UFT-ready Flex application.

Flex application details

The details of the applications to open.

Each row in the table lists one application and specifies the following:

  • The location of the application
  • The parameters to pass to the application (optional)
  • The browser or Flash player with which to open the Flex application

Add. Opens the Add/Edit Flex Application Dialog Box, which enables you to add a new application to the application list. You can add up to ten applications.

Edit. Opens the Add/Edit Flex Application Dialog Box, which enables you to edit the application details for the selected application.

Delete. Removes the selected application from the application list.
